Question

Web content and wifi access

Jul 14, 2017 9:50AM PDT

Hi

i'd appreciate some advice and help please. This is my first post, so hopefully i've posted it in the right place.

i have a Super Hub made by NetGear, i would like to be able to bloke adult content to protect my kids. Is this possible and if so how do i do it?

i'd also like to be able to set times that specific devices can access the wifi, again is this possible and if so how do i go about setting it up?

thanks again for any help

Some have parental controls but since you asked, I take it this one does not.

So the answer is no, it doesn't do this. You have to control it other ways. The best solution so far is to keep the computers and such out of the kid's rooms. Put in in a public area so they are easy to watch.

If you want to install parental control software there are many choices. Not one stands out above the others.

the quick and easy way

Is to look online for "host" files that specifically block porno sites, and then find the host file already on your system, change it's name to something like host-old, and replace it with the new host file. Try one of the blocked porno sites and it should refuse connection no matter what browser you use.
