Web.com personal website

Can anybody please advise how to retrieve my website password and domain name to access the website I have been renting from Web.com - I am not blaming web.com for losing these - that has been my fault - but they don't understand the problem on their support email - I have emailed them with all my details but their fall back solution is to telephone them in USA when I am in Europe - this is not any more likely to give the answers they cannot give by email and seems improbable.
If anyone can suggest how to get these passwords etc from Web.com - I had them three months ago - e.g. an alternative email to their support email = I would be very grateful. Thanks

Web.com

Just thought: re my post above as the website I have used, I think, used to be hosted by CNET a few years ago and part of the domain name I have is still 'CNet....' - perhaps someone at CNet can advise? Thanks

that you used them. Let's be sure first. Type your domain name in there http://centralops.net/co/DomainDossier.aspx?dom_whois=1&net_whois=1&dom_dns=1 and look at the DNS. This tells you who's hosting it. If it is web.com, then you know you have to get it from them.

Other than that, if there isn't a "forgot password" link, you will have to contact them. Usually hosts will not give out password information in an email, because they can't verify who the responder is. Your only way might be to call them. I used to live in Europe and don't they still have those cheap 5 digit numbers to make international calls?

Domain search does bring up Web.com - I think I'll copy them the page and use their regular support email one more time. Thanks

Retrieving Domain Name Password from Web.com

Here is a suggestion - go to this page:

https://support.web.com/ForgotPassword.aspx

You simply type in your domain name and they will email the password for the account to the email contact in their customer records.

You must know your own domain name - the www.nameofmysite.com - format for navigating to your own site.

If you are not the owner of the email address for the account - you will need to contact them and prove that you own the account / domain name.

One other thing - if you need to call the US from Europe - just use SKYPE - it costs like 2 cents per minute - or you can get a subscription for unlimited monthly calling for less than $3 per month.

Good luck with your site!
