web based integrated file sharing

Hi,
I am trying to have - something like a mailing list or blog - for my fellow coworkers where I can host our internal/office documents and they will be able to download it.
I am looking for a secure site. I only want certain people (my coworkers) to access this site.
I am wondering if anybody can show me to the right direction.
Something cheaper than central desktop. Something that offers bigger space than yahoo mailing list.

Would be the great and easy way, but you could always setup a website to do the trick... it's just a lot more work (and there would be domain costs, webhosting costs, and possibly extra security costs).
