Web 2.0

May 30, 2006 7:13AM PDT

Rafe Needleman has been on the Web 2.0 beat and I'm going to try to get him on to discuss where it's all going, what it means, and whether O'reilly can really service mark it.

What else would you like to hear about Web 2.1?

Is this something I should try to market to potential clients? Cutting edge vs. tested & reliable web design?

When is a site Web 2.0?
May 30, 2006 4:05PM PDT

How do you know when to describe a site as Web 2.0? Does it have to use Ajax or tagging? Is it about social networking and making comments on web pages--as opposed to Web-based message boards of the old days? Does it have to be covered on TechCrunch?

I haven't been able to get a straight answer from my friends in the business of new media.

For me, Web 2.0 is like "obscenity": I know it when I see it.
