Now that Windows 7 no longer allows its built in Desktop icon for weather to function, I would like to obtain another one, without the hazards of downloading spyware etc. Would be willing to pay a one time fee fro this application.

some of the weather sites have desktop utilities where you can add the weather to your desktop. The one I can think of right now is weatherbug. It does not have spyware but it may have adware. You may also want to check your local tv stations and see if they have one you can download.
