We need consumer specification standards!

Where's the audio output specs for all these MP3 players? The MP3 player I have now can barely drive the input to my car stereo Aux jack. Turn the player output to Max, turn the stereo output to Max, and it's just audible over the road noise. I would like to replace it with another more powerful one, but guess what, no one publishes their output power! An output in mW into a standard impeadance should be required, otherwise you don't know what you're getting. Anyone know where these specs may be available? Some manufacturers sites have it, most don't.

Thanks
