Question

WD10EZEX vs WD10EZRZ

Nov 16, 2015 8:08AM PST

Hi guys.
I will buy new WD Internal Harddisk. But I have a question and I can't find solution about this. There is 2 disks but I can't choose one of them.

WD10EZEX is old model but it has 7200 RMP.
WD10EZRZ is newer model but it has 5400 RMP.

Which one is better, I'm a PC Player and I need to choose better one.

I hope you will help. Thank you.

Answer
A solution is what you get for a problem

And an answer would be for a question. You didn't ask a question(?) and didn't present a problem.

I have 2 questions.

1. What is a "PC Player"?
2. What is the question or problem?

Yes you are right, I didn't give enough data about my situation.

1- I'm gamer, I'm playing PC games.
2- Which one is better for games and normal using, WD10EZEX or WD10EZRZ?

Thank you for your answer.

Gamers tend to want speed.

A laptop user may want it to work on battery power.

So for a gamer nod to the faster RPMs. On average the higher RPM wins speed tests about 99% of the time.

Answer
7200 is better for desktops, maybe 5400 for laptops.
Nov 16, 2015 8:29AM PST

If you're buying for a desktop, you want 7200 RPM because of significantly better performance. Most laptops use 5400 RPM drives because of heat and power considerations. You didn't say which you're buying for.

Good luck.

Answer
Just rebranding
Nov 18, 2015 9:57AM PST

To clear things up, WD killed off the Green series and rebranded them as Blue. EZRZ is the WD Green, and EZEX is the good old Blue. Would highly suggest you as well to go with EZEX.

....so the shutoff time wouldn't be so aggressive?
