Question

WD My Cloud

Apr 27, 2017 8:39AM PDT

Hello

I had to unplug everything connected to my computer recently but now the computer is up and running. The computer is upstairs and the router is down stairs.

I have a WD My Cloud which has important files on it. I have plugged it into the mains and plugged it into the router. The blue light is on and it is registering its exhistance on my computer. However the diagnostic states "Computer appears to be correctly configured but the device Detected or resource (WDMYCLOUD) is not responding". It also states that "it is connected to the internet but then it isn't".

When I try and open the Cloud to access my files, it states that the files do not exist. So can anybody help me?

Thanks in advance.

ps. My husband recently passed away at age 54. He dealt with all the technicalities. So I'm a female in need of help and am an amatuere at this.

There's some bad news here.

Any files you must not lose must have a backup copy. If you drive the number of copies to just one, there is a chance of loss.

WD has it's own support and if they fail you, try drivesavers.com

You may be new to all this but next time, be sure what you can't lose has spare copies on other media.

You plug this cloud unit directly to your pc?

Can you then use explorer to view files?
