Second issue. HOW IMPORTANT IS RECOVERY?
If it must be done, we can't talk about do it yourself recovery and head straight to http://www.drivesavers.com
If recovery is not important and we can accept hit or miss, might work recovery and you are WILLING to get another pair of 2TB drives to hold what you recovery then read http://forums.cnet.com/7723-7588_102-354911.html?tag=contentBody;threadListing
Sadly this is how most learn these are not "storage" but a copy. And we need more than one copy.
Can someone please help me!
I have a 2TB WD hardrive and all of a sudden I cannot access it... I connect it to my MacBook Pro and it says that it hasnt been umounted properly and to connect it a pc and correctly unmount it, I get get an option to force mount it or cancel (neither one has worked). I then go back to another laptop running XP and I see the drive in "My Computer" but it does not give any of the properties size, use etc. i click in it and there are no files. I then try disk manager but it doesnt show up on the list , tried this about 6 times now and nothing, same result. I also have connected it to my PC running vista and when i try to open my computer or disk management it freezes but when i disconnect the drive, the system is back to normal. I have sooooo some family pictures, videos and music that i desperately dont want to lose..
Is there anything out there that can recover my drive? is it too late?
Your help is appreciated...
