Let's see. WD says it doesn't work, and it doesn't work.
I think you are asking how to fix it. The answer is you can't because the chips or code in the boxes are not upgradeable.
This is why you should try other enclosures.
Bob
I have a bunch of WD Drives and Cases. I had 2x 1tb green caviar drives in a MyBook Studio II Dual Drive (the silver chubby one). Worked fine. I took out the greens and replaced them with black caviars and it wouldn't work. WD Drive Manager keeps telling me the drivers are not recognized. I emailed WD and they said that I can only use green drives in that case. Is that true? The black drives work in single cases for me, why not a dual? Anyway around this? Thanks!
