The Canon S90 plus waterproof housing runs about $600.
The Ikelite housing for Nikon D-SLR runs about $1500, and Nimar housing with included standard lens port runs about $1200. This will allow you to use a better camera.
If you don't need scuba diving quality waterproof capability, then AquaTech has some pretty good waterproof rain shields that runs about $200 for the Nikon D-SLR.
Hello,
Currently I have an Olympus 720SW which I do not carry as it is slow and has at best okay image quality. I am considering a Canon S90 with an underwater housing for use as my position as a fire photographer with a busy volunteer fire department. I am a pro photographer and usually carry my Nikon D300 with 18-200, 12-24 and SB-800 flash. For interior fires, I use my older D200 rather than risk my new D300.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
