Question

Water dripping under neath VW Golf MK5

Sep 16, 2017 7:45PM PDT

I have water dripping under my 2004 VW Golf GT MK5. It doesn't seem to be draining from the radiator and the fluid is clear (coolant is pink). The drainage hole is directly under the drivers seat and there is no water inside the car. Any ideas?

It's typical and not a concern.

Running the defroster also runs the AC compressor so that can cause condensation. The exhaust can also produce water but it usually burns off after a short drive. It's possible, however, that some can drip and get trapped on the underneath side and make it's way to the ground later depending on gravity and whether or not your car is level.
