Watching right now flood rescue in San Antonio.

by John Robie / November 22, 2004 5:34 AM PST

on TV. Well, just a few miles outside of SA, highway IH-10 to Houston has a quarter mile section completely flooded, backing up traffic. Two 18-Wheelers are stuck near the middle with their drivers inside. Emergency Sheriff Zodiac boats are there and they just rescued one driver and now the other driver a female they just got her out of the truck. She threw her backpack out 1st into the boat, and now they have her heading to dry land.

We have had continious rain now for 2 days. The flooding hasn't approached the 100 year type flood we had in 2002, but getting close and exceeding in some areas. So far only one lady (45 yo)drowned swept away when her car stuck in water. Still raining...

Hi John,

Didn't realize your area was being so heavily hit. Hope you're personally high and dry! I hope it stops raining soon for y'all, too.

ground. Rain has stopped. Still some flooding. There has been more than 100 emergency rescues made by the authorities. Everything seems to be under control now and waiting for the many low areas, creeks and our river to settle down.
