Watching laptop on a Tv

Jun 5, 2007 5:38AM PDT

I bought a 12' 3.66M VGA to RCA Component. I tried to connect my laptop to my tv using this wire, but it did not work properly. I asked around and someone told me a RCA to Scart converter would work, but it didn't.

Can someone please help, with this problem.

Most TV's can't handle VGA size screens. That is it could be proper to see an improper video screen. Or "this is as good as it gets."

Your laptop needs "tv out" or...

your tv needs "vga in".

Typically, just a cable won't cut it because component video is Y-Pr-Pb encoded but most VGA outpus are non-encoded and use RGB and RGB/HV. Feeding RGB signal to most TVs will result in an ugly picture or no sync (picture) at all. You'll probably need a "transcoder box" which are typically over $100USD.
