Question

Watching Films on Smart TV

Dec 28, 2014 1:48AM PST

I recently bought a Samsung Smart TV. A few weekends ago, there was nothing worth watching on TV so we thought we would like to watch The Imitation Game. I tried to use the browser to search for it in Google, but I found the browser UI impossible to use. I did eventually find some sites that seemed to be offering me the chance to watch this film for free. Most of them made me create an account, and enter my credit cards details, which I did. When it got to the point of saying Watch Now, it just sat there forever, saying "wait a moment, your viewing is about to start" or similar, or I got though the process of trying to access the film and it said "not possible now, try later", or when I tried to enter my credit card number in the browser screen, random numbers kept entering themselves. I then tried to find the film using my laptop, and even there I could find no way of either streaming the film so I could watch it now, or to download it so I could watch it later. Again it told me "unable to download now try again later".

Can someone please explain to me (a) is it possible to do what I am trying to do, and (b) if so, how?

Thanks - Rowan

You might have already been scammed. Contact your credit card provider immediately and change your pin etc.

1. Too many sites are scams when it comes to films.

2. Almost all Smart TVs can't use the browser for streaming videos. The short reason is that it's capability is nothing compared to PCs, smart phones or much else. In short, forget streaming video in a Smart TV's browser. If you feel this is a product defect, return it now and get a TV.
