Watching CNET Live Stream on Mac

Jan 18, 2011 3:38AM PST

I am new Mac user and cannot watch CNET live stream. I get only audio. Pre recorded content plays fine. I tried Firefox, Safari and Chrome, but no love. Had to watch BOL live stream on my PC today because could not figure out how to get the video to work on my Mac. I watch TWit live stream fine on my Mac, so why not the CNET live stream?

do you have the Adobe Flash Player installed on your Mac?

If not, trot over to the Adobe site and download the correct version for your OS.

I checked on this with our CNET TV product manager, and there's a bug on Adobe's side:

"There is a bug in the latest version of flash that causes this. We've talked to Adobe and they are working on this, in the mean time users can downgrade to a version less than flash 10.1. It is a big bummer."

Hopefully they'll have this fixed soon.

I have the latest Flash Player installed on OS X 10.6.6 and the video is present on my machine.

I did note that there is a "download" option on these video's.

If you download one, will it play correctly on your machine.

The pre recorded shows all play correctly and

I would assume if I downloaded them they would still play fine, it is just the live stream that is not working for me here at CNET. When I go to watch the stream, the advert plays correctly and then when it switches over to the live stream, the screen goes black and I can hear the audio only. I guess I will have to use my Windows machine to watch BOL until they get it fixed.

That might explain it

I guess I was watching a pre-recorded show.

Hope they fix it soon for you, and everyone else
