Here is my question of a few days ago. I don't know about gray side bars, mine are black, but the picture has degraded in only two years. I almost feel a class action suit against wide screen manufacturers as they must have known of this problem and could do something about it.

HDTV Burn-in
I purchased a 65" Mitsubishi Diamond Select about two years ago and love the HD wide screen programing while despising the none HD programing with the side black- out strips. Although I have tried to limit the time the side strips are there by watching a stretched screen, burn-in lines have become evident and the center portion has lost some of its brilliance. Is there any way to restore the picture and eliminate the burn-in? Or do I have to replace the guns at considerable cost to regain the original picture quality? Two years seems like a short time for such an expensive TV to have lost so much of its original quality.
I've heard that the side bars can burn an image while watching tv at a normal screen size (4:3) on a wide screen. Anybody know anything about this? My side bars are a light gray color instead of black, does that make a difference?
