In short...

You can uninstall GRUB, which should then automatically default to the Windows Boot Loader; if it doe snot, you can replace it by running Startup Repair from your Windows Vista DVD. Once that's done, simply delete the files on that partition and either continue using it as is or repartition it using GParted (freeware).

Hope this helps,
John

HP has us make recovery media.

But as you suspect, these recovery disks are not for repair. They wipe the machine back to the factory load.

Can I ask why you didn't make them? And go ahead and DEMAND them. HP will demand payment.

Go ahead and rant but let me clue you in here. If you want to get the restore set for free, call in within a few hours (days?) of your laptop purchase and tell them about how the recovery set came out blank.

Go figure.

This is where you ranted a little. My reply is to supply with what works but if you want to demand the disks go right ahead. HP will demand you pay up. I offered you what works and if that's not useful then what to do?
