washed out colors....help!!

I have a planar lcd computer monitor that washes out the colors. I cannot see some buttons in XP even. I have played with all the buttons on the monitor but they don't seem to help.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Are the colors washed out all the time or just when viewing movies or running certain programs?

What video card is in the computer?

Try downloading and installing the latest driver for the video card.
Also install the monitor driver.
