Was this the keyboard that got that WoW player in trouble?

by LifeStar / September 7, 2006 4:51 AM PDT

Was toying with the idea of maybe getting myself a new keyboard and mouse today, so I went to look at logitech's selections. Came across this keyboard with programmable "G" buttons that enable you to perform complex macros.

I remember the BOL crew, esp. V., talked about this guy on WoW who lost his account because Blizzard saw that he was using macros on his WoW account while gold farming. Kinda just want a confirmation if this was the keyboard that got him into trouble and/or if Blizzard has relaxed their policy for this keyboard. Logitech sports this keyboard as being great for games like WoW...

Keyboard not the issue
by Stan0807 / September 14, 2006 7:35 AM PDT

I don't think the problem was the keyboard. Hardware isn't something that is usually monitored by companies like that. I think the issue was he had programmed the G keys to run much more complex macros to make gold farming faster for him. It saved him many keystrokes and made his little hobby much more lucrative to him. So long as you are programming those keys for things that aren't cheating the system, you should be fine.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
