Warranties Vs Service Agreements?

I'm currently looking into buying a new tv. I was told to be against "warranties", and I know a lot websites are against warranties. And the salesman cant be fully trusted, i.e. i went to Bestbuy , and asked them how many pixels have to go out for them to replace, or fix the product, and he told me one while texting on his phone..little rude while making a sale. After him telling me this, I asked to see the paper work on there warranty, and it says on the second page or so that IT is a certain amount.
