1. See if the BIOS has a possibility to switch off RAID.
2. Load the drivers once. Then go into Device Manager and set the device is don't use (or similar words) in this Hardware Profile. It's effectively ignored then by Windows.
But why buy a motherboard with a RAID controller if not using it?

I just installed a new ASUS A7N8X MB. It has an onboard RAID controller. I don't want to use it, and they suggest not installing the drivers if you are not going to use it, but every time I boot it detects the controller and wants to load the drivers. Is there any way to avoid this? I just hit cancel and go on, but it is annoying to have to do that every time and it does cause you to have to wait for it to do that at each bootup. Thanks for any help.
