Wanting to put an icon in address bar on the broswer when my page loads

by AThomas / February 7, 2004 3:39 AM PST

What I am looking for is the code to put in my web pages on how I can have a small icon show up in the browswer address bar when someone loads my web pages.

For example when you go to

you see the small red "Y" in the address bar.

Use this:

LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" href="/path/iconName.ico"

Replace /path/iconName.ico with the correct info to your 16px x 16px icon. Icon must have the extension .ico.

If you don't want to have a link on every page on your site, just place the icon in your server root directory, and IE will automatically look for the icon there.
