WANTING A REAL SAMSUNG TECH TO VIEW MY TV

Jun 6, 2009 1:15AM PDT

I'm not sure what to do. i recently placed a support ticket at the samsung site to have a tech guy come out and look at my 850 for the IR issue and clouding issues that seams to be getting worse.

After the ticket was sent i got a call from a tv repair company in my area called Brandywine tv repair a couple days later wanting to set up a day to come out. i cancelled because i have read from others that want their tv fixed that they have been getting horrible help from local companies coming out to check their tv's. i saw one guy over at the AV forums put in a ticket and he posted pics of his clouding issues and they were horrible but the loser from the tv company in his area said it wasnt an issue. now samsung has sent that guy a bill for having the guy come out to look at the tv.

basically what it comes down to is i want my tv serviced and checked by a real samsung tech and not some so called repair shop guy in my area. i have 2 real problems with my tv and i would be RAGED if i have them come out and try and tell me nothings wrong and i get a bill from samsung. i want my IR issue fixed and the clouding that is minor but seams to be getting worse also fixed. how do i go about this problem without getting burnt?

as of right now the IR issue is off and on some days its ok and then some days it drives me crazy. as for the clouding it has always been there from day one. but very minor to where i could live with it but recently in the last week or so it seams to be getting more noticable especially at night. is there some way of getting my issue resolved or rectified without dealing with a local dump shop coming out to look at it? i would rather have someone that actually works for Samsung that knows the problems that we are dealing with.

Any Advice?

I don't think there are any other options

I don't think Samsung has their own roaming service techs, except maybe in the immediate vicinity of their HQ. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think anybody here has gotten a tech from Samsung to come out to see their TV.

The local companies are supposed to be authorized by Samsung and whatever that entails (I assume some training and what not...), so unless you or somebody else has had a previous bad experience with the local company they referred you to, I would give them a chance...

Lascivious1,

The network of technicans we use are authorized to repair televisions. Most of the service issues that have been resolved have been with local technicians around the country. They have training, and support from Samsung.

I can't speak for individual cases, like you listed here, but if your unit is in warranty, I'm not sure how you could be billed. As for the other fellow, it's between him and service/ECR. I'm not familiar with the case.

when i get a chance ill post a picture or 2 to show my clouding. unfortunatly i do alot of traveling for my company so this month wont be good to set something up. but i guess im force to have them come out and take a look. its just a real big disapointment to buy something and find out later that i have to have numerous things fixed to enjoy it.
I'm really nervous from what i been reading from other posters of the problems and issues they come across even after they have things fixed. for example like hearing PQ lost after panel replacements and scratches on bezels after shop does the work. i know these are probably rare incidents but i dont want to be one of those few that run across that kind of problem. it would just burn me badly especially after spending thousands of dollars on samsung products in the past few years. virtually almost ever electronic i own is by samsung. it would just be really bad to buy the most expensive thing i have from them and it be the worse purchase i ever made.
