wanted: upto date info shows from tv DVR to mac

i would like to remove and store old tv programs i have recorded on the cable dvr.
i am running 10.5 soon snow leopard. searching on net all i see is really old inform.
i know the firewire port is active. what currently works the best?

Not sure there is a way to access the cable DVR HD

from your Mac, even if it is on a network.

I use a digital convertor, attached to the DVR S-Video out port and then to a Mac via Firewire.

Are you saying that the Cable DVR has a Firewire port? If so, does the DVR HD mount on the desktop when you plug it into the firewire port on the Mac?

10.5 is Leopard, 10.6 is Snow Leopard and will be released on August 28th.
