If you have an Internet Provider (IP) why not post it to your own IP? Most Ip's provide at least 5mgs for a web site. Create a special folder known only to you and there it is.

Any webbased mail (try hotmail?) has a web-based address book that is not on your computer.

Everything that's on your hard disk is likely to be lost if the hard disk crashes and you don't have a copy elsewhere (be it on a diskette, a burned cd, another computer or somewhere on the web). An address book is no exception to this rule, which also goes for saved e-mail, Word documents, mp3's and whatever else you put on your machine.
