I am a long-time victim, not a proponent, of cell phone eavesdropping.
I'll show you. If you still believe that it is impossible to eavedrop on an all digital cell phone or one with the latest technology, or that it happens rarely, only in unusual circumstances, come to see me. I live in Los Angeles, Ca. I'll let you listen next to me whenever I use my phone or access my phone number. You make your own judge. Eavesdropping on a cell phone is very very easy and impossible (really) to be caught: The phone company won't deal with it, nor the police, the FCC, or the FBI (I have been through all).
There are zillions of talks, posters, fliers, web pages about identity theft through the use of credit cards, but nada about the theft of identity, privacy, everything, through eavesdropping on cell phones using the inexpensive equipment sold on the web. Type in "Eavesdropping on cell phone conversations" on Google and read up till you tire out. An informative and credible source is the listing cited at the bottom of "www.tscmvideo.com" .
Note: This discussion is about eavesdropping by ordinary people, not wiretapping by the law enforcement.
