Want to buy new Camcorder, is 4:3 still the way to go?

I'm planning on buying a new camcorder, but i'm not sure whether to go with 4:3 or 16:9. I mean its going to be years before we actually fully go 16:9. and theres not much software out there to edit 16:9, so what would you all reccomend? I was thinking of going with the Canon GL2

What is size of your TV? 4x3?. A lot of the cameras have the dual mode feature on them so if the GL2 has this fearure you are set. John
