Want to buy a Sandisk Sansa MP3 player-Amazon.com-Safe?

I want to purchase a Sansa MP3 player and was wondering if Amazon.com MP3 files is a safe place to get my music from? I simply don't understand the whole WMA protected,WMA,WAV,etc. jargon that's out there. I just want to find a safe place where I can purchase the song and not have to worry about it crashing my MP3 player. Would it be wise to purchase an IPOD and just purchase files from there store? Thanks for your help!

Both Amazon and the iTunes shop are reputable and safe. And both Sansa and iPod are reputable players. So it's fully up to you which of the two you like most (for color or size or screen or price or whatever).
