Want to buy a new monitor on Blackfriday

Nov 23, 2010 1:42PM PST

Hey everyone,

I'm not well versed in monitors, so I figured I'd ask here:

I'm looking for a monitor in the price range of $120-160 for my desktop. I'm upgrading from a CRT, so I am expecting a pretty hefty upgrade compared to what I am currently using.

I've been looking at LCD's, and low end LED's and cannot for the life of me figure out which one to choose.

My minimum resolution is 1600x900, however 1920 x 1080 is preferable.

I intend to use the monitor with a few video games, and for browsing the internet, and even watching HDTV online.

I'm hoping to take advantage of deals being offered on black Friday, so if you know of something that a store is offering, let me know!

Thanks for the help in advance.
JB
