I would make a couple of changes to your list.
The Panasonic LZ2 has been replaced by the LZ5
The Canon A700 also fits into your group of cameras.

For any long lens camera, image stabilzation is a big plus. All of the Panasonic cameras have it.
The Canon A700 is the only one with manual controls (aperture priority and shutter priority).

Currently i'm looking for a camera on the smaller side with a powerful zoom. the camera's that i've been looking at are the
Nikon Coolpix s4
Panasonic DMC LZ2K
Panasonic Lumic DMC-TZ1
I was wondering which one of these was better or if there were some better options out there for me. I'm looking to stay in the $300 range.
