Question

WAN Miniport drivers

Jan 15, 2014 5:40PM PST

My daughters DELL Inspiron 1750 laptop running Windows 7 would not connect to the internet. I discovered the Network adapters could not load there drivers. I was able to reload some from the laptop and get a wired connection to the internet. However some WAN Miniport drivers will still not load. When it searches for the drivers on the internet it comes up with the message "found software for the device but encountered an error while trying to install it. The drivers are, IP , IPv6, L2TP, Network Monitor, PPPOE and PPTP

For a Dell laptop you get all needed drivers from the Dell site. But using the system recovery back to factory settings and going forward from there is the recommended way to do it.

The common way to go back to factory conditions on a Dell laptop is to press ctrl-F11 during boot and then choose to recover. And, yes, you'll lose everything that wasn't on it when you bought it.

So maybe better try what James found (and you couldn't find for some reason).
