wallpapers and apps

i found some nice wallpapers to download on google and they fit my macbook pro,my question is it ok to use apps and downloads that are not from apple?

Perfectly alright.

As long as what you download does not end in .exe, you are quite free to download whatever you wish.

The reason why.

The .exe on the end of a file indicates that the file is usually a Windows executable file.
