Wal Mart Offering $100 Gift Cards for Blu Ray purchases

Just bought my first HDTV (ya, a few years behind I know) and now am thinking why not go the distance and get a Blu ray player as well.
In reading around I stumbled on an article that says wal mart is offering a $100 gift card the week of 6/8 for any blu ray purchase. I don't know if that includes the PS3 or not, but either way may be a quick way to get $100 off the players. Well, not off, I know you have to pay the full price, but then get a gift card to apply to other things so it is like you get $100 off (at least that is how I may justify this - smile).
again, I am new to this - is this kind of standard or is this kind of a unique thing?
