Question

Wacom Tablet Issues

by lishall / February 8, 2012 8:57 PM PST

<span id="INSERTION_MARKER">Wacom has not been helpful at all (they haven't answered in two+ months), and I'm not sure where else to turn...

I've been having this problem with my graphire3 tablet. When I draw in mouse mode, it draws several inches away from where I was actually trying to draw.

In Photoshop, however, it works properly. Pen mode works properly as well, in every program.

I have tried every available driver on Wacom's website, with the same result. All have been clean installs.

I don't know what to do. Sad I guess the easy answer is "use pen mode", but I just can't get used to it.

(My OS is Windows 7 Professional)

I should also add that my husband, who installed the tablet the SAME way I did, has it working 100% on his computer.

Sounds like calibration to me.

Yeah, I looked through Google results for several hours and tried everything they suggested. No luck.

Not really.

You have a working system and a slightly borked one. I can't see both systems to see how they differ.

It could be that one has some mouse driver installed and the other has something else. Just so you know I NEVER install such a thing. It's a learned response to bugs in such things.

Off the wall thought and don't know if it will help

I agree about a calibration issue. Long ago I had to set up systems with multiple pointing devices...the worst of which used projection of some kind. I found it best to install and calibrate one pointer at a time beginning with what Windows new best which is the mouse. Do the mouse first with any other devices disconnected. Touch screen devices are added and/or calibrated afterward. Good luck.

I tried this earlier as well, under Wacom's suggestion. Unfortunately it did not work (there's no way to calibrate the tablet unless it's in pen mode, it seems, anyway).
