wacom bamboo tablet not recognized by Corel Painter X

Jan 17, 2009 7:13AM PST

I have a new Bamboo Tablet and am trying to use it with Painter X. I can use the pen to click on menu items, but when I try to paint/draw with it nothing happens (screen stays blank). I'm really upset because the whole point of me getting this tablet was to use it with Painter X.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong in the program or what. I thought this table could be used with Painter.

Have a Gateway computer with plenty of ram and hard drive; use Vista.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks

probably would contact Wacom and Corel to see what they have to offer. I see on the expensive tablet it even bundle some of these softwares with it. Maybe driver update for vista is all is needed (I say maybe). Good luck.

Thanks. I discovered that if I pressed super hard it would work. Then found a setting whereby I could decrease the pressure I had to put on the pad for it to work. So got it working.

Still having issues with using it with Corel Painter X. Seems to work much better with Adobe Photoshop.

Thanks again.

i have the same problem with painter 8 with the pen and touch bamboo tablet.
with photoshop cs3 work perfectly, with painter 8 don't do a line.
i didn't understand what you did with that pressure issue you mentioned.
i think should be a simpler way, the tablet is developed for graphic programs, so why it don't work with the basics?
