Scan using any of the following:
1. Online scanner

Depends on how the infection arrives. Depends on how the user respond. Not all type of risk and malware is detected by single scanner (free or paid scanners).
I have NIS 2008 and the full system scan just "removed" w32.spybot.worm. The Symantec article and patch about this virus is four years old. I also use Spybot S&D and Lava Adware.
Do I need to do anything else or do I trust that NIS has really removed this?
I bought Kaspersky IS to replace Norton, but just have not gotten around to installing it yet.
