VX-8000 Excessive Battery Drain...

Feb 25, 2005 11:19PM PST

...Got this otherwise excellent phone a few weeks ago and found that it would drop from fully charged to 1 or 2 bars overnight after no usage. Took it back to Verizon and they replaced the battery. Same thing, so I took it back and this time they replaced the whole phone. I was fully charged yesterday at 2:00PM. I made a few short calls and this morning it was dead again!
What's up here? It seems clear that after two phones and three batteries, it's not a defect, yet all the reviews of this phone talk about its better than average battery life. My old Startac kept a charge all freaking week. This is awful.
Anyone have any ideas?

searching

It keeps trying to connect to a network that isn't there, that drains a lot of batteries. Try to find the setting that turns of the video service, then it'll stop searching for it

Makes Sense....

....Can Verizon turn off this feature if I go back there? I don't think there is a way to do it from the phone itself.
Thanks for the great answer.

Same experience

Had a similar experience with a Samsung phone and Verizon after having used a Moto v60c for several years; ended up returning the Samsung for the Moto v710 and am now satisfied.
