VW Golf TDI alternative

Like many, I will be looking for a replacement vehicle for my VW
Golf Sportswagon when (and if) the buy back occurs. Which vehicles should I be looking at? Golf TSI Sportswagon? Mazda 3?
Audi A3?

Why did you get the TDI?

Mileage? Look again at the Prius line.

Why did I get the TDI

Reviews were great: performance, fuel economy, style, capacity.

We've had the 2016 Prius model 3 for 6 months.

Would buy again as we beat the sticker MPG.

What about performance? Highway acceleration?

Did shop Lexus

But we've own hybrid something or other since 2002. The last one was OK at first till Honda fixed it (2006 Honda Civic Hybrid was in the news) and so I was on the fence about Prius and with the updates on the 2016, we went that way.

The model 3 nicely equipped was 29K. Wish they had the model 4 without leather seats. The extra smarts are really great there. Also, my neighbor went with the 2015 Nissan Altima. It has all the goods.
