VPN Remote Access

Aug 26, 2013 12:43PM PDT

Hi,

I need help with setting up a VPN for a site to site remote access to my server so that the staff @ the site office can use the accounting system inside the server. I already have a server in my office.

What else do I need?
Do I need a server @ the site as well?

And the VPN is part of the entire solution. It's just the pipe or connection but all accounting systems I've seen don't allow such use. That is, I am guessing you are trying to avoid the usual PC for them to use GotoMypc or looking into Terminal Server.

Research
Aug 27, 2013 6:05AM PDT

Hi,

I was just being told to do a research anyway by the head of IT department to find out on network access. He gave me an example like "how a staff being sited from another different location within the country can access the server which is located in the main office and was able to use the invoicing system and make printing.

So, my research come up with VPN Grin.

Good to get paid for such research.

Now it's time to call the company that supplied the accounting software and see what they support. Remote access such as noted is a common workaround of old but as more systems move to web based solutions, you would toss out the old system as your IT is getting behind with the times and won't supply a solution.

Hi,

I agree with R. Proffitt. You should contact the company that supplied the accounting software, they will surely give you a solution for this problem.
