This is more of a consumer forum. I'd get your CIsco support on the line next and have them work the problems.
Hi all!
I have VM Smoothwall with 10 NIC and now I want to add my second network to SW over VLL connection. I want that VLL connection secured and I am planning to put 2 Cisco ASA on both sides, make VPN tunnel. On one side Cisco ASA will be DHCP for a small network and on another ASA will be connected to SW.
Now, I am not sure what to do on SW side... Do I need to make one interface (NIC) as a new network or connect ASA on existing network over switch?
ex.
MAIN network
192.168.1.0/24
SW (192.168.1.254)
.
.
Second NIC ???
192.168.2.0/24
192.168.2.254 (Gateway)
.
.
Cisco ASA A
192.168.2.1 (inside)
10.0.0.1 (outside)
.
.
Cisco ASA B
192.168.3.0/24 (inside network)
10.0.0.2 (outside)
I know that it's possible to make VPN ASA-SW directly and I have tried but without success.
So, my question is do I need to make NIC as a new network or I should put on Cisco ASA A (inside) local IP (192.168.1.0/24) and put it on main network switch?
Any help is welcome!
Thanks!
