It clearly says there seem to be more "allegations" of suppression. Why take it as fact? Allegations are, today, no more than a common ploy to get people jumping up and down so the news media has something to spin into controversy. If you've just bit...they've just won.

Of course they are allegations

If it was proven I suspect they would be forced to stop.

Take a look at one of the charges

and, then, look at the published reasons and ask yourself if these are realistic. In many places, it's said that the number of polling places is being reduced and that this affects minorities more than anyone else. One reason cited is cost. Lack of foot traffic due to early voting and mail-in ballots makes it hard to justify keeping them open. As well, some can't accommodate people with certain disabilities without expensive remodelling. l can't find fault with this type of reasoning as long as it's done honestly. Of course the media will want to shout "racist" and who knows what all. My point in this is that we should not even begin to pass judgment without listening to arguments from all sides of an issue. Allegations are not enough. Judges have an annoying habit of asking for facts after charges are made. Wink

Does something that seems like voter suppression and they have justifiable reasons for what they did then it won't have any problem in court if they get sued.

Because K was accused of something with no proof did not make K guilty in my mind.

The unfortunate part of your 'theory'
Nov 4, 2018 5:25AM PST

is that Dems sue often knowing some handpicked liberal court will favor them with their decision and by the time it gets to an appellate court or SCOTUS, the block by those lower courts happens and the voting has already happened.....and in some cases, it takes so many years to get a definitive OK by the courts that the political atmosphere in that State has changed hands and things go back to what the Dems had all along. And the circle just keeps occurring like having one foot nailed to the floor. The Dems and liberal groups are notorious for suing for everything and depending on the courts and the media to back them up....it's been that way for far too long.

Perhaps

The dems know how to play the game.
Why is this a problem for rightys?

- Collapse -
So you admit
Nov 4, 2018 10:40AM PST

that Dems are and have been playing games for years and the only serious politicians looking out for the people they represent are Republicans....good start, Bob.

Dems are out to win back and keep control of power....it's all they are interested in to the detriment of the taxpayer that they swear they are representing when it's themselves they are looking out for. And the fact that you don't see this as a problem is concerning. Yes, it's a problem for 'rightys'..

I understand

That politics is a game....I accept it.

You for some reason can't accept that.

Keep going on your denial trip if it makes you feel better.

Dems are bad repubs are good and you can add to your grudge list and carp.

We don't need to vote anymore. We've made our choice per the Paternoster. As you could, any time.

I didn't say anything about your voting I said you could take the opportunity to go to polling places with your reading material and get in the faces of the political activists who are accosting voters. Maybe they'd even leave. It was meant as light humor anyway...so...fergetaboutit.

Expired ID
Nov 3, 2018 6:26PM PDT

I just saw an interview on news media about an African American woman who tried to vote in 2016 with an expired license. She was given a provisional ballot and was told she had to appear with ballot and valid ID by 4 on the following Friday. She could not get it done because of her job. I voted early on Oct 22 this year. Right before entering the voting place I noticed my ID had expired Oct 13th. I gave it a try anyway and got through to vote no problem. I don't know if the lady checking the ID didn't look and I lucked out. Or is it because I'm white.

vote by absentee ballot

If you are registered to vote, they don't check ID at the polling place, so if your ID is expired, you can still vote with no problem.

I just noticed the OP link - al Jazeera. Interesting.

Hated equally by Westerners and Arab governments. They must be doing something right. Happy
Anyway, here's part of the circumstantial evidence I referred to elsewhere.
"Since 2010, at least 24 US states have introduced new measures that place tight restrictions on voting protocol. Most of those states are controlled by Republicans."
Many other sources for the same basic story.
Another story: It's almost First Tuesday, and almost half the states still have declined a no-cost Federal eval of their ballot security.
Well, it's still 'one man, one hack', right?

I don't know where you get your information,
Nov 4, 2018 10:49AM PST

but https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Jazeera states that Al_Jazeera IS Arabic founded. Why do you think they are hated by Arabs? Did you know that it was also affiliated with Al Gore (climate change propagandist) at one point? Why would you think the Middle East has an interest in associating/partnering with 'climate control'?
