I'm an embedded controls designer. That's software, hardware that does control of "stuff."
The problem is that many think that the prices you see for retail items like laptops to be about what you will pay for an embedded industrial controller. Let me share that the usual price difference is about 10X from a retail box to some industrial controller.
The reasons are many, but include volume (you don't sell 1,000s of the industrial product), support (the support is much more involved.) and so on.
If you have the electrical and electronic background, you might sort it all out yourself, but at $6,400 I think you may have found a good deal.

Hi,
I have no idea if any of you can at least take a stab at this question...
Ok here goes
I am looking at purchasing an intelligent light (one that moves and changes colors) and have no idea what to do to control/operate this light.
Right now all I have are 2 breaker/control towers from Strand Century which are about 19 years old.
and a DMX lighing board from Leppricon which is basicly brand new, the only thing is that it is all sliders and no control fron intelli-lights
so if any of you have an idea of where to go or what to do to run this light, whithout buying an enitre digital control system that would cost around $6400 because this light is only around $200.
Thanks
