Question

VolumeSize in NTFS volume

On windows server 2012 R2, I observed the following things, could anyone please clear my doubts:

1.create a virtual hardisk of 5TB.
2. Attach the same to VM in IDE controller and formatted.
3. Now that disks appears as basic disk in disk management.
4. Right-clisk on disk to convert it to dynamic, then following failure comes.

Coould anyone please tell then probable cause.

What failure?
What's that "volume size" in your subject?
What did you do in the host system (what OS)?
What did you do in the guest system (the virtual system) and what OS is that?
