and I am looking into advantages/disadvantages myself. One disadvantage is that, from a desktop, a power outage means no service. When my power is out, I call the power company. This could be a problem. See this link. Now, here's what I want to know from your title line. How did you get the ? to go upside down?![]()
Good afternoon, reader.
If you are knowledgeable on the matter, could you let me know the pros and cons of VoIP compared to the standard analog telephone service?
The concept is brand new to me... I understand how VoIP works, but I'm wondering what the catch is. I've read some VoIP provider's websites, such as Vonage and Yak... But I'm wondering about things such as:
-Sound quality?
-Delay?
-Bandwidth hog?
Things like that aren't stated on their websites, which seems kind of suspicious... If anyone uses/used VoIP, could you let me know of the state of these factors? Or recommend me a Canada/North America provider? Of even possibly inform me of a catch in this new protocol.
Thanks,
-AInTeL
