Can Any one tell me how to compile latest version of vlc media player for ubuntu.
well the website does not provide .deb package

But it may require other system updates to work or to compile without errors and if you try to compile them too you may break things.

There is a solution for 10.04 Lynx and 10.10 Meerkat at http://www.webupd8.org/2010/06/how-to-install-vlc-110-final-in-ubuntu.html
What you need to do is install runz http://hacktolive.org/files/runz/runz-framework-0.8.9.8.deb and the install this .runz vlc http://www.zshare.net/download/625706065af92397/ file. I assure you it will work!
