I would Try a scene like That on in Deathly Hollows 2 with the Black Detail set to Medium. It's able to retrieve whats lost in the Local Dimming.

Below you'll find the settings I found best for viewing the Vizio M601D-A3R in a dim room via the HDMI input. Your settings may vary depending on source, room conditions, and personal preference. Check out the Picture settings and calibration FAQ for more information.

Calibration notes: The new Calibrated mode provided the best picture settings without any adjustment, although it was a little too bright at its default settings.
As with the M551 red push was a problem and couldn't be properly tamed with the use of the Color control.
While the Smart Dimming feature results in much better blacks it does adversely affect gamma response across the spectrum. Adjusting the color temperaturesettings did help help smooth out the curve but as you'll see on the graphs within the review the response did plummet at about 90 IRE.
