Question

Vizio M Series weak wireless connection - any gadget to fix?

Jan 30, 2015 2:51AM PST

Hi there,

We just bought an M series Vizio smart TV, and we've found that movies and shows on Netflix and Hulu have to refresh often, and/or load slowly.
We use Mac laptops in our house, in that same room as the TV, with none of the same wireless internet problems.
I thought that I'd read on cnet about accessories that we could buy to plug into the TV to make it more able to process the wireless signal, but now that I'm searching for it I can't find it.... Happy.
Can anyone steer me in a helpful direction regarding this problem? Thanks!

Answer
That would be a WiFi client.

For example a 20ish buck WiFi client like the http://www.tp-link.us/article/?id=388 article. This way you can place this in a better location. TV's tend to get half the range of laptops and clients.

My preference too.

I can't answer why so many want WiFi. It costs more, less speed, less reliable.
