Vista Upgrade/Recovery Partition

Feb 14, 2007 3:03AM PST

I have a laptop with a recovery partition that resets to my computer to when I got it....with a fresh install of XP Home.

I'm just curious...if I were to upgrade to Vista, would be recovery partition be upgraded as well, or if I wanted to reinstall Vista, would I have to reinstall XP first, then do the upgrade again?

Since my recovery partition is from the factory, I'm guessing no, so I guess more generally does Vista (either versions, but specifically the upgrade) have the ability to create a recovery partition like that?

Thanks
