Vista-To-Vista in place upgrade

Aug 16, 2007 5:04AM PDT

I remember hearing that vista performs rather badly if it was installed as an in-place upgrade to XP (you know, with files and program installations preserved). But is the upgrade process from one version of vista to another more reliable? I don't mean the Anytime Upgrade thing, which is more of an unlocker- I mean the "Upgrade" install option on the vista disk. Will I have the same performance but more features? Is there any chance at all that any of my programs will cease to work? (I have some low level programs like peerguardian and daemontools, will these work?)
